Fexserv will be in Budapest on 23 September 2026, proudly sponsoring the Malta–Hungary Investment Forum, organised by the Malta Asset Servicing Association.
Under the theme “Malta: An Alternative European Fund Jurisdiction for Private Capital,” the event will bring together professionals from the Maltese and Hungarian investment communities to explore how Malta can support Hungarian and wider CEE private capital managers as they structure, operate and expand internationally.
Fexserv will also be represented at the opening of the event by our Managing Director, Anabel Mifsud, who, in her capacity as Chairperson of the Malta Asset Servicing Association (MASA), will deliver the Welcome Address.
Connecting Malta and Hungary’s private capital communities
As private equity, venture capital and other private asset managers increasingly look beyond their domestic markets, the choice of fund jurisdiction is becoming an important strategic consideration.
Regulatory certainty, structuring flexibility, governance, substance, operational efficiency and access to European and international investors are all key factors for managers considering where best to establish and grow their fund structures.
The Budapest forum will provide an opportunity to examine these considerations from both a Maltese and Hungarian perspective, while creating stronger links between the two investment communities.
We are particularly pleased that the Hungarian Venture Capital and Private Equity Association (HVCA) will be taking part in the event. Its involvement will bring an important local perspective to discussions around the development of Hungary’s private capital market, international expansion and the opportunities for greater Malta–Hungary collaboration.
A practical discussion on Malta as a fund jurisdiction
The programme will cover the Hungarian private capital landscape, Malta’s fund and regulatory framework, fund domicile and structuring considerations, governance and substance, cross-border structuring, operational requirements and access to international investors.
Speakers and panellists will bring together perspectives from the Malta Financial Services Authority, the Hungarian Venture Capital and Private Equity Association, fund managers, legal advisers and fund service providers.
The programme will also feature a dedicated Hungarian perspective on Malta, with a first-hand discussion on the decision to establish operations in Malta, the practical experience of operating from the jurisdiction and the considerations relevant to other Hungarian and wider CEE managers evaluating Malta.
Meet us in Budapest
For Fexserv, supporting this event reflects our commitment to strengthening Malta’s international financial services relationships and engaging directly with managers and investors looking at Malta as a jurisdiction for their European activities.
We look forward to meeting fund managers, investors, advisers and other industry professionals in Budapest and contributing to the conversation around the opportunities for closer cooperation between Malta and Hungary.
